Hello everybody and may I say it is lovely to see you once again. And I hope you feel the same as it has been nearly a month since my last update. But don't worry, I have a mega post prepared for this occasion.
Let's start with weekly political cartoon. Some of them published here didn't get printed due to some editorial decisions (they ware approved but there wasn't space on the page). That means the only way you can see them is on this page. Not that you are thrilled by that idea but anyway... Here is 13th episode.
Next stop, something you don't see here often - a drawing of Amnesia!
In the next issue of BD FUNziiin, a e-funzine published on the web portal of Radio Sarajevo (remember the one who sent me to London) there will be a short section of my comics with Amnesia. I was also asked to draw a front cover. I had an idea of an empty cover with AMnesia rushing in saying "Damn! I forgot I was posing on the cover today".
Here is the sketch of that idea:
For the final image I tried adding some more "scenes" as to make a small story...
... But It just isn't as effective as a single image.
Also, Milorad Vicanovic Maza asked me if I would make a poster image for 3rd Comic Festival in Laktasi. With Amnesia on it.
We started with an idea that Amnesia should be next to a famous landmark from the city of Laktasi. Maza choose a bath house and I sketched some ideas I had.
Among all of those small images, he liked the image of Amnesia in semi-turned pose in front of the bath house. So I drew it full scale and inked it.
Next stop? Add color to that drawing. Maza suggested I do it like this (first image) but I thought that I should keep the clouds as the image (sky) looks empty without them.
But then Maza explained that he needs empty space (single colored background) so he can add text on the poster in those area. So I re-thought the idea of clouds and re-created the sky bit.
Last image was made last night and as I draw, er, paint, more you'll see it here.
Oh, I nearly forgot! How was it in London? AMAZING! You can read my reportage on some of places I visited on Radio Sarajevo webportal. Mime fest reportage part 1 - here Mime fest reportage part 2 - here Cartoon Museum - here
There will be more as soon as editors approve my texts.
Since I won't be in Sarajevo to draw them week by week, here is the batch of three new political comics. First one is already in print and the following two will be in the next two issues.
If you are wondering what's the title - "Behani" means... Well, Bosnia and Herzegowina in short is BH, read (in Bosnian) Be-ha. If you push it you could say that people from Bosnia and Herzegowina are BeHa people. That would be Behani. But, word Bekan, and in plural, Bekani, means dumb ass (dumb asses). Bekan and Behan is very similar. Both as an word and as the type of character in the comic series.
I'll be attending some of the plays at Mime Festival, then I'll try to seeMousetrap (they say that if you don't tip the taxi driver enough he tells you who the killer is - that's why I'll go there by foot!), and as a special treat the concert of very talented Imelda May (that's her in the photo).
There's still time to fit things in my schedule (as I'll be there from 22nd to 30th January) so feel free to suggest a meeting or whatever you know that is interesting in London.
Yesterday I finished inking 2nd page of Traitan comic. The editor said I should make small adjustments and that is why this is going in"unauthorized" category.
Since New Year fell on Thursday I had free Friday to join with weekend and that gave me enough time to ink the first page of that serious comic I'm making. I'll stop calling it "serious comic" and give it a proper, al trough working, title - "Traitan" (which is the name of that guy that looks kind of like Michael Jackson).
I'm also posting the rest of comic in pen. Something I promised I'll do some time ago. But forgot. As usual.
