last weekend I started working on a illustration of X-men characters on the beach. The idea was to present the characters from the series in a non-comic environment and in a bit more realistic style. I colored it... well, I'm still coloring it with pencil colors (crayons).
There's a comic book festival in Makarska, Croatia called Mafest and this year one of the guests is C. B. Cebulski who is an editor at Marvel. Yes, The Marvel.
It is a great opportunity to show my work and maybe even strike a work deal. Since it's The Marvel we're talking about here, I'm going to keep my hopes in check and I'll show him a drawing of a character that is most likely to appeal to Marvel editor.
The Association of Publishers and Booksellers of Bosnia and Herzegovina awarded Amnesia as the best graphic design of a book printed in 2009.
It is such a great honor to win this award for my first comic. I won an award for the comic before and now I win for the book. I'm just so amazed that people even notice the work I make, yet award it.
What makes the ceremony even greater is the fact that the same award was given to a rival designer, and a mighty good one, Aleksandra Nina Knezevic. It is a huge motivation to compete with creative competition she is.
Here is the photo of the two of us at the ceremony.
