Follow up
Some time ago I drawn a couple of pretty female faces/figures and now I present to you a full page from that comic.

It's not the same page (obviously) but I like the way this one turned out.
Don't try to understand the story. Especially as none of the text in balloons have any sense. I was goofing around and putting funny dialogue out of my head (the comic isn't a humorous one).* Ignore this part if you don't understand Bosnian language in first place.

More art from the archives
Just an old image of out of proportions collage of Sarajevo.
Seeing this now I'm kind of ashamed that I got payed for this.

sorry for the lousy quality of pencil image, it wasn't scanned for the keeping so it's very low resolution.

To be totally honest, I never really wanted to draw this.
I wanted to draw something positive, something challenging, not a realistic portrayal of the city (which was asked of)...

Immediately after finishing this comic (this is just one image from it) I did the new one. And you sure can tell that I was "in the mood" this time around!

But as it is, the black-and white was sold and published weather the color one, with much better and positive story, never got a nickel and has never reached its audience. Needles to say, all those who saw it found it extremely funny... but, it is as it is...

Art, you want art?! I will give you art!
You remember me mentioning Dijana, don't you.

Well, after months of development I have came up to a doable drawing style. That means this comic (which is now more an illustrated story than a comic) will be finished... someday... in my lifetime.
Here is the story of how it came to be.

It all started with those sketches you have already seen.

That was just the idea. Confronted with the actual amount of text that needed to fit into images I realized I had a problem. Too much text meant I won't be able to draw it so loosely as I planed. Also the female figure had to be smaller.

Taking all that into consideration I did the first page. The proper first page.

The second page never survived the drawing stage because I was always so unsatisfied with the way I did it that I tore it up. Again and again. Text was always suffocating the drawing and I just couldn't draw a good drawing with white pens/colors on black paper.

I admit it - I'm not that good in this drawing style and I find it very hard to draw in negative (white on black).

When I was sketching the second page I did it in black on white paper. Here is the scan of that drawing so you can imagine how the drawing looked like before I tore it up.

Having done that sketch, and realizing that I will not be able to draw it the way I planed, I chose to draw it the "easy" way - black on white paper.

First, I had to choose the lettering style.

Then I did the final first page... the second time.

But, damn, something wasn't right this time too!
The text was imperfect (look at that rigged right edge of text!) and the figure wasn't one of my best work.

What did I do then?
No, I didn't tore it up.

I re-did it with yet another lettering style.

Alt rough this couldn't be further than the original idea, it was finally something I was satisfied with. And since this is just-for-fun project where I can accept a failure, I'm OK how it turned out.

It also means I can continue to do the rest of the drawings. Here's the photo of work done so far on 2nd page.

I'm holding my fingers crossed that I don't have to re-draw it from the start again. As of each new page... I don't know. It's quite tricky writing all this text and fitting a drawing next to it...

"Why don't you just add text on the computer?!" - one might ask.

Are you serious?
Do you really think I would go trough all of this just to quit and add text on the computer?! No way! I want my originals to look as much as possible to the finished products. And if that means re-writing the same text/page for 4-5 times, then be it.

Merry Christmas!
The final episode for this year is up and running. Go on, check it out, it won't bite.

Half of this episode is Esmir's fault really because Ron, the dark-haired girl and the blond girl (who don't have a name yet) are completely his creations. Ron's first (silent) appearance was in episode no. 11 when all the children are running out of the classroom, and I immediately decided to use him as the Avians team captain. I can promise you that this won't be the last you see of him, not by a long shot. And he's not mean like Andrea, he just doesn't like to lose.

Be sure to come back on January 1st, because we'll be starting our next adventures early next year!

Oi oi oi oi oi oi!
Oi! I made a new drawing! From something which isn't finished. Yet. But I have all the rights to show it to you. And I will. Just as soon as I finish it.
